Rita
Sturzbecher
Rita arrived in the United States, with her husband John and family
in 2003. Having been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, with a
passion for good food. Mother of 5 children, all with gluten issues,
Rita had to relearn skills to accommodate the dietary issues, while
still producing excellent food. Particularly baked goods like bread
and pastries. This is the philosophy behind The Little Aussie Bakery
and Cafe™. Rita figured if she was going to produce excellent
gluten free food for her family, she may as well produce a whole lot
of it, for the many who are dealing with this issue without the skills
necessary to produce something that is gluten free and still tastes
good. |

John Apostolovic
John also a registered nurse joined Rita in putting together The Little
Aussie Bakery and Cafe. John manages the behind the scenes stuff,
but can be seen at the register or in the dish pit at a pinch. John
manages, marketing, the website, newsletters, and also looks after
staff morale, with his simple philosophy of an escalation of extreme
silliness as being the most appropriate course of action in almost
all situations. Exceptions have not yet been encountered, but he does
not deny the possibility of the potential for the existence of such
a situation, in much the same way that most people acknowledge the
possibility of intelligent extra-terrestrial life. |

Thomas
Tom has long earned a place on our website. He very quickly made himself
an indispensable part of the team at the Little Aussie. Tom knows
everything that there is to know about local etiquette and protocol.
He helps us to relate to "all you all" so mucn better than
we did before he
came along. When Tom is looking afrer you, you know you are in good
hands. |

Mariela "Smela"
We finally got a photo that Smela was happy with. Smela has quite
a talent in the kitchen, quite unknown to her when she first arrived.
We very
quickly invited Smela to be our Apprentice Master Baker, a title that
is well deserved and she wears with pride.
So when you are next munching a chocolate chip cookie from us, chances
are that Smela had a lot to do with it. |

Lauren
Lauren comes to play most weekends, she is positively charged, and
is always looking for ways to have fun at work, be careful, or you
might become part of the fun too. |

Yvonne
Yvonne is our anchor out the back, she prepares food with an attention
to detail we all Love and we know, because Yvonne puts our meals together
for us as well.
We are thrilled to have Yvonne with us, and we think you will be very
happy too when you next admire the presentation of our salads. |

Bridget
Bridget has completed culinary school and is intensively refining
her skills, baking, decorating cakes, slow cooking meats, baking cookies.
Bridget came with skills and learns fast as well, and is great with
customer service too. We enjoy having her on board, and I think you
will too. |

Masha
Masha is a final year engineering student specializing in base metals
at the University of Moscow, she is working with us for the summer
in part to improve her English and to have a good time, she and friend
Tanya are doing plenty of both, while their accents are even harder
to understand than ours they are both a delight to have around. |

Tanya
Tanya is in her final year as an engineering student specializing
in precious metals at the University of Moscow, Tanya joined friend
Masha to work with us, improving already adequate English, and also
enjoying good times in Texas. We have enjoyed having them so far and
I am sure you will too. |
