What is the meaning of Hassayampa?
The name “Hassayampa” comes from a Yavapai Indian word, hayesamo, meaning “following the water as far as it goes.” Apache Indians referred to it as the “upside down river” because it flows underground most of the way.

Do ASU dorms have bathrooms?
Some will have a private bathroom that students will have to provide cleaning supplies (and a shower curtain) for, while others have a shared bathroom space. Most residence halls don’t allow these items inside students’ rooms.
Can you have a dog in ASU dorm?
No pets, except fish, are permitted in the residential facilities (except Family Housing. See below). This includes all non-human mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds. Fish tanks larger than 10 gallons are not permitted in the halls.
How are the desks arranged in Hassayampa Academic Village (HAV)?
** Hassayampa Academic Village (HAV) Building B (Arroyo Hall) floors 1-4 have desks that are combined with the bed frame directly below the mattress with a fluorescent light under the bed. All other HAV Buildings and floors have detached desks.
