Capturing Caer Bronach is automatically triggered when you approach the bandit-infested keep while on the Still Waters quest. Kill all the bandits inside, and you’ll resolve the quest. There are no special strategies, but you may want to assault the place carefully.
Where can I find Orlesian tomes?
They usually drop from the freemen enemies in the exalted plains, while on the requisition quest. If you finished most of the Exalted Plains, there’s a group of 3 freemen in the “Ancient bath house”(I think that was the name), where you can probably farm the tomes.
The ferelden locks are only available in the hinterlands. Dropped only by the rebel mages. If you get the requisition after you deal with the rebel mages, then you will not be able to complete it. This is incorrect.
