The Gledhill Boilermate is a thermal storage system. The hot water and central heating in your home is provided by a high specification storage system which will give you many benefits. Heat passes through the wall of the tube and heats the cold mains water on it’s way to the hot tap.
What can replace Boilermate?
Combination boilers are not normally suited to properties where boilermates are fitted and the most common replacement would be with an unvented hot water cylinder. These are far more manageable than the boilermate and depending on the size should fit in the same space as the redundant thermal store too.
