What does nit look like?

Nits look like small, symmetrical ovals that head lice attach to close to the scalp. Often they are white or light in color and attach to the hair on a slight angle. These pesky little guys are hard to remove and will feel almost glued to the hair.

What color are nits?

Nits often appear yellow or white although live nits sometimes appear to be the same color as the hair of the infested person. Nits are often confused with dandruff, scabs, or hair spray droplets. Head lice nits usually take about 8–9 days to hatch.

Symptoms

    – Wet your child’s hair. – Pour on lots of conditioner. – Comb the hair out in sections, from the roots to the ends, with a lice comb. – If there are lice in your child’s hair, you should see them on the comb.
